KURENAH.COM – West Sumatra Vice Governor, Audy Joinaldy, paid a visit to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) office in Jakarta.
Audy Joinaldy stated that the purpose of his visit is to discuss the development plans for several strategic infrastructures in West Sumatra with the Director General of Highways at the Ministry of PUPR, Hedy Rahadian.
During the meeting, Audy Joinaldy emphasized the seriousness of the West Sumatra Provincial Government in accelerating the development of strategic infrastructure. He mentioned that the visit is a concrete step towards realizing these plans.
“We are here because we are serious, especially because what we propose is a necessity for the majority of the people in West Sumatra. Earlier, this has been discussed by the Governor with the Minister of PUPR in early January. Now, we are following up to mature these plans further,” expressed the Vice Governor of West Sumatra.
In direct discussions with the Director General of Highways, Audy Joinaldy presented infrastructure projects that are the focus of the discussions. The proposals include the continuation of the Sicincin-Bukittinggi toll road development, the Sitinjau Lauik flyover, the restructuring of kelok IX, and proposals for the development of local roads based on presidential instructions (inpres).
Audy mentioned that the Director General of Highways responded positively to these proposals, especially regarding the development of the Sicincin-Bukittinggi toll road. The Director General of Highways stated that it will be discussed promptly with the relevant ministries to become part of the national strategic project.
Responding to the proposal for the restructuring of kelok IX, Audy revealed that they plan to develop a masterplan for the project within this year. The masterplan is intended to be submitted to the Ministry of PUPR as a reference for budgeting and implementation of the construction.
Regarding the Sitinjau Lauik flyover project, Audy stated that the Public-Private Partnership (KPBU) tender process is expected to be completed in the first semester of 2024, allowing the construction to commence promptly.
Director General of Highways at the Ministry of PUPR, Hedy Rahadian, mentioned that several proposals from the West Sumatra Provincial Government will be reported to the Minister of PUPR and discussed in cross-ministerial meetings.
“This includes the Sitinjau Lauik Flyover project, which is targeted to complete the KPBU tender process in this first semester,” explained Hedy Rahadian.
The Director General of Highways emphasized the importance of the commitment from local governments to expedite land acquisition if these proposals are approved. This is to ensure that the construction process can proceed smoothly as anticipated. (gsp)
